Friday 5

1. If you could change one life-changing event in the life of someone important to you, would you?

Yes, I would make sure my dad's cancer was caught before he became Stage 4.

2. Which do you think is easier to do, being friends for many years, or being life partners for many years?

I think it would be easier being friends.

3. Have you ever walked away from someone you considered a friend?

Yes, she became a psychic vampire...or more....I realized she was one and broke free.

4. If you had to choose between telling the truth and hurting a friend or lying and making them happy, which would you choose?

Hard call....depends on the situation and whether telling would enhance his or her life or just make them miserable.

5. Which would you rather hear--the truth which will hurt, or the comforting lie?

Again, hard call. Depends on the situation and whether hearing the truth would help or just hinder.

Hello

Well, thought I might update.

For the last couple of weeks I've been going to SAIT taking AutoCad 201 over again. It's been really good..I really much prefer to go to class over Distance Education. The instructor is great and has a lot of real life wisdom to share with us.

In comparison to DE, actually going to the school has been amazing. Personally, Autocad 201, I wouldn't recommend the DE version. I'm really disappointed with the quality of the DE for this class. Don't get me wrong, I think that DE is wonderful. But I don't think it does justice in this case.

I'm frought with worry that I'm going to fail again though. *sigh*

My midterm is next Wednesday and I don't know if I'm prepared. This weekend will be study...in addition, I've been invited to an 11 week course (11 Saturdays) put on specifically for the Pipers. Of course, this starts this Saturday.

I'm exhausted :)

I Am An Idiot

So this morning I was supposed to go out of town. Last night I put together what I needed to put together, poured the cat some food and went to bed. What I failed to do was check to see if I had my credit card...which is currently sitting at work.

I wake up at 5 am to discover no credit card. So I'm like, I can't go.

What I failed to remember was my credit line. Or more like I failed to remember about internet banking which I can move money between accounts. That is, until 6:15 am. Of course, the bus leaves at 6:30 am. It is now 6:20 am and there is no way I can make it to the depot.

I would chance the car, but if it rains, I'm screwed, not considering the fact that the car has been totally unreliable lately.

I am an idiot.

I went out this evening...I very rarely go out on Sunday evenings, but a friend of mine called me at about 4:30 pm and I decided what the heck.

We went to the Nelson...formerly Lord Nelson's. I didn't have too much enthusiasm...thought I'd just stay for an hour, but I ended up staying a few hours. It was awesome.

It wasn't like going to a club. At a club there's a huge amount of people on the dance floor and the music is so loud that it goes right through you. It's kind of awesome....you have to get up and dance!!!

Jazz is different...you sit there, you listen and it is soooo relaxing.

I'm glad I went.

The friend I went with is a really nice lady...but man, she seems to find really messed up guys that she ends up going out with. She went out with a guy who ended up practically stalking her, and some other unsuitable men.

It's scary to me as I keep wondering where to find a decent person. It seems the world is full of psychos. *sigh*

Has to Be Said

Ok,

Here's my post in response to THIS

I need to get it out, so bear with me....can't stand the article about this loser. Yes, you heard me...LOSER! There, I've said it.

Anyway, here's my answer:

My dad died from stomach cancer after two long, LONG years...it ATE him from the inside. But I never once thought that his treatment was a waste. He fought to the VERY last.

Quite frankly, I don't believe the father is in the right. I feel he's a coward and I think the concept of denying his child treatment would be out and out murder. Perhaps he should grow a backbone and live up to his responsibility to his child. He's lucky the government has stepped in so that he doesn't have to live with the thought that he murdered his child.

Don't get me wrong, I understand anguish...very well in fact. My dad lost 70 lbs in one month and he basically starved and died of thirst right in front of our eyes. It was slow and horrific to watch. By God we stood by him when he needed us and didn't put him down like an animal. Or worse yet, stood by and did nothing. We didn't deny him his medical requirements because we couldn't handle it.

I'm really disgusted with that person. That makes me so ANGRY at him. Coward. It's a sad day when someone else has to take care of your loved one because you can't deal with the issue at hand. The parent is causing the anguish in this little scene and if he's bent out of shape over it, he's only got himself to blame. And if he's causing his kid anguish, then that's his fault too.

Sorry for being so vehement.

Did I mention I feel this guy is a coward? Or a loser? Living La Vida Loser? Thank God MY dad loved me.

Decisions, Decisions

Well, I have some decisions to make. I'm getting some money, around $6000. The first thing I'm going to do with it is pay off my Mastercard. That's my first priority, which will leave me around $1400. My Mastercard payment is non-negotiable...and later I will need to put 2 classes on it, which will cost $1200.

I want to buy a new computer as this laptop, while good for surfing the net and a few simple games, is not good for editing photos, video, etc.

Also this year I would like to get an airconditioning unit for the apartment. Yah, I know, extravagant, but just one large enough to cool my small living room. If I have to sleep in the living room....I'd do it.

I would really like to advance my business too...found some software which would really help get a website going. Need to get some stock too..gah!! I want to do all of this without getting a loan to do it.

That and pay off my credit line as well as the Mastercard. Seems an impossible task.

Zombiemania

I woke up at 8:30 this morning and somehow it's almost 12 hours later. How did that happen? I haven't done a damn thing today.

I'm watching Zombiemania right now. It's actually quite interesting. It has George A Romero, Max Brooks, a clinical psychologist and others.

This brings to the forefront that I should start finding parts for my costume next year....I wish that I had access to some FX shops...that would be soooo handy....the guys from Land of the Dead made some tooth accessories that make the lips receed from the teeth...it's a great effect.....I need some contact lenses...damn...sounds expensive.

One person has implied that this is the reason I'm single....but considering how many people go to Zombie Walks, watch zombie movies, etc...I don't think that's it. ****sigh, with the amount of oddballs that do have husbands/wives/SO's, I'm wondering what it is.

I've watched some of the episodes from my DVD Collection of the X-Files.....

I'm on Season 4...and it contains two of the most interesting episodes...

The first one that I like from this season is "Home." Or in my words, "The Closer the Kin, The Better the Skin." It's about a clan of genetic mutants....creeps me right out.

*shiver*

The second one is "The Field Where I Died." I found this one amazing. It's about Mulder meeting a woman he may have known in a previous life...it's so awesome...I recommend it.

This weekend was pretty good.

I stayed up very late on Friday night. I should have gone to bed, but it was one of those things....ordered pizza pretty late....it was pretty good...I really enjoyed the wings.

Saturday I lazed around fairly late. Saturdays are, as a rule, fairly slow for me....I like to take my time...usually don't get my butt in gear until around 5 pm. Love it!!! I went around 17th Avenue at my leisure. It was a beautiful day out. I had thought that it would be cold, but it was actually quite warm.

Today was another wonderful day. I went to coffee as I usually do. I really enjoy the weekly ritual. I love seeing Tracy and Les. I was quite tired today as I had gotten up early to do an errand...which I didn't end up doing anyway. I watched Friday the 13th: The Series and then fell asleep. Ended up waking up a little late, but made brunch.

Tracy and Les dropped me off at Franklin Mall as I was going bowling. I was early so I went to the Dollar Store at the Mall. Awesome! Love that Dollar Store...will have to go there more often. I also went to T and T Market and bought some candied ginger and some coffee candies. I also went and took a look around Army and Navy as I was still pretty early for bowling.

I was still tired, but once I finally was able to go to the bowling alley, I started feeling better. I had a great time! I ended up taking photos....lots of photos...ended up being around 85 - 90. Most of them turned out. Some of them need to have red eye taken out, but I'll photoshop them if they are chosen to go on the company's site. I also took some video...not good video...I hadn't thought of bringing my actual little video camera. I had to use my camera's video capabilities...there's no sound. Fortunately I may be able to add a sound track once I'm able to get my film editing software up and running.

I'm pretty hyper right now...I drank a lot of coffee before bowling, 2 Coca Colas and 2 coffee candies. However, I should go to bed.

It was an awesome day!

If you became ruler of the world, what three things would you do first?

                a) I'd have a serious review of Canadian tax laws
                b) I'd redirect certain wasted funds towards things like cancer research, alzeimer's research, etc.
               c) I'd be rewriting some laws

If you were a superhero, what would be your name and what powers would you have?

                a) Name? I have no idea
                b) Powers: Super Speed, Invisibility, Telekinisis, and shapeshifting abilities

You can ask one question to someone who knows EVERYTHING. What is it?

Why can't everyone just get along?

If you were invisible for a day, what would you do?

If I were invisible for a day, I'd sit in on some meetings, go to secret places

If you saw a mythical/religious deity walking down the street, what would you do?

I'd check to see if someone put something in my food or drink.

On Friday I went home to see my mom....Easter weekend. That night I had a dream:

I dreamt my dad was laying down...he had passed away...he was gone but he opened his eyes and said to me, "I love you." Then he closed his eyes again and I woke up....
